What is TEDxBNU?
TED (Technology, Entertainment, Design) is a platform for elite minds from various fields to exchange ideas and brainstorm. Founded in 1984, TED is now organized by the Sapling Foundation, a non-profit organization established by Chris Anderson.
Each TED speaker has a maximum of 18 minutes to present their ideas, focusing on the latest and most imaginative innovations or concepts across different fields. Past TED speakers include former U.S. President Bill Clinton and "Avatar" director James Cameron. Attendees often find themselves surrounded by notable figures, such as Nobel laureates or renowned activists.
TEDx—Believing that valuable ideas are worth spreading, TED developed the TEDx program. TEDx events are localized, self-organized gatherings that bring people together to share experiences and insights similar to those found at TED events. TEDx combines live speakers with recorded TED talks to foster deeper discussions and tighter community connections. The "x" in TEDx stands for independently organized TED events. While TED provides overall guidelines, each TEDx event is organized locally.
Every week, TEDx enthusiasts gather in various locations around the world to explore a wide range of fascinating ideas.

Since 1990, the main TED event has been held annually in Monterey, California, and now occurs semi-annually in other cities around the world. It invites global thought leaders and practitioners to share their most passionate pursuits. "TED" stands for "Technology," "Entertainment," and "Design," three broad areas that shape our future. The scope of TED continues to expand, covering nearly every field with diverse insights. The event is often described as a "superbrain spa" and a "four-day tour of the future." The audience typically includes CEOs, scientists, creators, and philanthropists, who are often as distinguished as the speakers. Notable past speakers include Bill Clinton, Bill Gates, British zoologist Jane Goodall, American architect Frank Gehry, singer Paul Simon, Virgin founder Sir Richard Branson, international design master Philippe Starck, and U2’s lead singer Bono. Since 2006, TED talks have been uploaded online.
To date, nearly 2,000 TED talks have been updated, each reflecting TED's philosophy of ideas worth spreading. The internet has allowed these brilliant, shareable ideas to reach audiences globally.
