The "International Piano Master, the Modern Liszt — Lang Lang 2011 China Tour - Changzhou Station" dazzled last night at the Changzhou Olympic Sports Center!
At 7:30 PM, as Lang Lang stood at the center of the magnificent stage, the entire venue erupted with excitement! The applause was thunderous and the cheers overwhelming! With performances of Liszt's Paganini Etudes No. 3 "La Campanella," "Ave Maria," "Liebestraum No. 3," "Concierto No. 2," Chopin's "Black Key Etude," and other classic works, Lang Lang transported the audience into a wondrous and exhilarating musical world with his magical hands!
As the concert approached its finale with the majestic and grand "Yellow River" Piano Concerto, we were especially proud to see our 6-year-old piano prodigy, Wang Haoxuan, stand out in the Changzhou "100 Young Pianists Selection" event, earning the opportunity to perform as a special guest in Lang Lang's encore! They played Schubert's "Marche Militaire" together! During the rehearsal, Lang Lang offered heartfelt praise and commendation for Wang Haoxuan's outstanding performance.
We are particularly proud that for this leg of Lang Lang's China tour, the conductor for the "100 Young Pianists" performance at the opening ceremony was our school's Principal, Mr. Liu Jian, and the 50 pianos used by the "100 Young Pianists" were sponsored throughout by our Piano City!
