On August 2, 2016, the globally renowned motivational speaker Nick Vujicic (also known as the "Limping Man") held his "Hero's Return" speech event at the Mercedes-Benz Cultural Center in Shanghai. Born on December 4, 1982, in Melbourne, Australia, Nick Vujicic was born without limbs, having only a small "foot" with two toes on his left side below the hip. Despite his physical disability, his parents did not give up on his education. Nick faced ridicule due to his disability but never gave up. He graduated from university in 2003 with dual degrees in accounting and financial planning. In 2008, he became the President and CEO of the international non-profit organization "Life Without Limbs" and has published books and DVDs such as Life Without Limits and Unstoppable. As a globally renowned motivational speaker, Nick has delivered over 3,000 speeches worldwide, touching countless audiences with his inspiring story.
Brief Introduction on The Mercedes-Benz Cultural Center
The Mercedes-Benz Cultural Center, located in the Expo Park in Shanghai, features a main venue with 18,000 seats, as well as a music club, cinema, ice rink, restaurants, and retail areas. As one of the most important permanent venues of the 2010 Shanghai Expo, it hosted a variety of large-scale performances and events during the Expo, meeting the demands for major cultural performances.
