On July 14, 2024, the International Congress of Basic Science (ICBS) presented a distinguished cultural performance titled " Benevolence and Universal Harmony" at Tsinghua University's Comprehensive Sports Center. Numerous prominent artists graced the event with their presence, delivering breathtaking performances that captivated the audience. The show received sustained applause and cheers,  offering an impressive display of Chinese cultural heritage to an international scholarly audience.

The 2024 International Congress of Basic Science , under the theme "Focusing on Basic Sciences, Guiding the Future of Humanity," has attracted scholars from domestic leading universities and research institutes. This premier academic conference, running for two weeks, will center on three branches of basic science: mathematics, theoretical physics, and theoretical computer and information science, and will present the Lifetime Achievement Award in Basic Sciences and the Frontier Science Award to outstanding scientists.

At the opening ceremony, Tang Juechen, representing China Magic Finger, performed as a guest artist. He collaborated with the chime player from China Conservatory of Music to present the theme music, the Piano and Chime Concerto "Lingxi," composed by the renowned Chen Siang. The chime, known as the "king of ancient Chinese instruments," shared the stage with the piano—— the "king of Western instruments," creating a stunning fusion of ancient and modern in a breathtaking audiovisual experience. This performance showcased a harmonious artistic "dialogue" between Eastern and Western cultures.

The International Congress of Basic Science, hosted by the Beijing Municipal People's Government, the Ministry of Science and Technology, the China Association for Science and Technology, and the International Union of Chinese Mathematicians, is a premier international academic conference in the field of basic science. The inaugural session of the ICBS was held in Beijing from July 16 to 28, 2023.
